About the Training Band

The aim of the Training Band is to support and develop players to play in the senior band. As such the training band will comprise of players with a wide range of ages and abilities. Some players will be complete novices and the band will be their first experience of ensemble playing.

The band is open to anyone with a desire to make music and we are always pleased to recruit new members. Everyone is welcome and invited to join in the fun.

• Do you have children who you want to learn a brass instrument?
• Do you have children who play, but would really develop in a band?
• Did you play brass at school and then give up?
• Have you played in a youth band at some point and drifted away?
• Or do you just fancy learning to play a brass instrument but never had the opportunity?

You will certainly be most welcome with us at Thurcroft Welfare Training Band.

We can teach you from scratch if you are a child or an adult, or we can help develop your skills from where you left off all those years ago – Give us a try!

Oh and don't worry if you do not have an instrument, the band has a number of instruments that are availble for loan.
