About the Band

Located in the outskirts of Rotherham, South Yorkshire, our band was originally formed by the Miners Welfare Committee for the benefit of Thurcroft Colliers and their families. Despite the closure of the pit, "the band plays on" through competitions, concerts and local community events.

If you require any further information regarding the band, this site should tell you all you need to know. If you wish to book the band for an engagement or contact us in any way, please email info@thurcroftwelfareband.co.uk or use the contact form on the contact page

We rehearse each Tuesday and Thursday evening, starting at 7.15, in our own band room at the top of West Street, Thurcroft, and our Training Band meets each Tuesday at 6pm prior to the main practice.

We welcome players of all abilities and/or instrument to come and join in any time.
