Harthill Village Hall hosted a joint concert between Thurcroft Welfare Brass Band and Percussion Group Nuenen who are from Eindhoven in the Netherlands.

Thurcroft Band member Frans Messerschmidt  is originally from the Netherland and has been as member Nuenen band for over 60 years so he invited the band to a joint concert in Harthill. This is the second time the two bands have played together.

Thurcroft provided a traditional brass band concert in the first half with our Dutch friends entertaining the audience with a percussion concert in after the break.

The evening was rounded off with both bands combining to play Cry of the Celts featuring Lord of the Dance.

Gifts were exchanged between band leaders Matthew Wright  and Koen de Brouwer to mark the occasion. Later in the evening the Percussion group presented Frans with a diamond studded pin to celebrated his 60 years with their band.
