Durham Miners Gala 2014

Thurcroft Welfare Band were proud to march with the Thornely Lodge Banner at the Durham Miners Gala on Saturday, 12th July. The band marched with the banner through the village, stopping at the Catholic Club for refreshments, before playing the Miner's Hymn, Gresford, at the the old Pit Wheel and the villages war memorial.

The band then marched with the banner party through Durham to play in front of the dignatories at the County Hotel, before marching on to the old racecourse.

The band would like to thank the village of Thornley for their hospitality.

The band would also like to thank the 'deps' on the day for their support which was greatly appreciated.
