Welcome to the website of the Thurcroft Welfare Band. We are the small village brass band with huge ambitions! Nestling in the outskirts of Rotherham, South Yorkshire, our band was originally formed by the Miners Welfare Committee for the benefit of Thurcroft Colliers and their families. Despite the closure of the pit, "the band plays on" through competition, concerts and events that require outstanding musical entertainment.

We rehearse each Tuesday and Thursday evening, starting at 7.30, in our own Band-room at the top of West Street, Thurcroft. We welcome all players of all abilities and/or instrument to come and join in any time!
